THE BATTLE OF LONE PINE
The battle of Lone Pine occurred during World War 1 and is known as one of the most famous battles during the Gallipoli Campaign. It was a diversion from attempts by New Zealand and Australian soldiers to force a breakout from the ANZAC perimeter on the heights of Chunuk Bair and Hill 971.
Date: 6th of August - 10th of August 1915. It was a 4 day battle. Australia's Involvement: the ANZAC (Australian & New Zealand) soldiers fought as this battle which occurred whilst they were fighting in Gallipoli, Turkey. They were fighting against the lethal Turks. The battle lasted 4 days.
